Introduction 4/9/2016
My name is Monica Saad ,this is actually my second year having a digital design class in high school, however,I have had ICT before through the journey of primary school. During my summer holiday I purchased and insta wide Polaroid camera which is basically a camera that manages to instantly print an image you have captured at that moment, I also managed to use my prior about digital technology to be able to understand its features, the hardware and also the software of the camera, other than that I also researched and investigated for some time about digital technology but also different inquiries I had about the camera as in the beginning I was quite clueless about how to use it and also some of the features in the software but also some parts of the hardware after I investigated I was then able to use the digital camera. Also, during my travelling journey, I was able to capture certain moments during the journey that I really enjoyed and loved using a camera. Lastly I hope that I really do well this year and really work hard to reach my goal at the end of the year but also at the end of the term but, mainly I would like to improve on my editing and coding skills in this year as I believe that I can do a much better job overall due to my prior knowledge and my hard work.Here are some images I captured during my holiday.

The IB Learner Profiles 5/9/2016
Today in class we discussed the IB profiles and discussed our opinions on which IB learner profiles we believe represents us and we need to improve so here is what my opinion was.For myself, I think the IB learner profiles that represent me most are a communicator and knowledgeable.The reason I believe that communicator represents me is because I think that I collaborate with people in different projects very well and I always respect them, also I am always able to negotiate and discuss my inner knowledge and ideas with different people, other than that in all my classes I always participate during the lesson with the teacher but I also usually volunteer to always help anyone confused.The reason I also think that the IB profile Knowledgeable is relevant to me is because whenever I am in any class I always make sure I try to use my prior knowledge to learn more things from each subject to be even more knowledgeable,second of all I always freely share my learning and my information with everyone I participate with, also I am always eager to learn more and I am always inquiring for more knowledge and more information for my benefit.The IB learner I believe that I can improve on is being a risk-taker, the reason I believe that I need to improve this learner profile is because I am never comfortable trying something new and I never tried doing something new through my school journey as I have always been worried about experiencing anything new.The way I believe I will improve it is by trying to do new after-school activities that I haven't done before or even trying to work with someone new in the class that I haven't worked with before in any project I have instead of sticking with some people, other than that I can also try doing new adventures like going to a trip that I haven't gone to before.To conclude the two learner profiles I believe represent me are knowledgeable and communicator, also the learner I believe I need to improve on is being a risk-taker.
MYP Design Cycle 18/9/2016
Reflection
Today in class I have created the design cycle on Microsoft word.On Microsoft word to be able to create I first opened it in google so I could be able to clearly see the shape.After that, I started by opening art on Microsoft word and from there I chose the shape that looked the closest to the shape of the cycle.After I chose the shape that fitted best I started typing up the data.After I was done I used snipping tool and put it on my post.What I learnt from this task was how to use smart art as it was either my first or second time to use it so I learnt how to use it better,other than that I also learnt how to edit and format any shape from smart art.Another thing I learnt was how to change the colour of certain parts of the diagram also how to change the size or the design of the diagram.Lastly, I learn how to adjust the diagram according to the amount of data.Meanwhile, I think for next time I can improve by maybe instead of limiting myself to try I can also try using shapes to edit my diagrams also, I can try to increase my editing and may edit it in a more complex way.Other than that I think I can make more detailed changes and could make the overall presentation a little better and maybe now that I have tried using smart art I won't struggle as much as I did next time.To conclude even thoughI struggled and had some problems in the process I ended up with a good result and I think overall I have put a good effort in my ending result and I think I did a good job with creating the diagram however I think I can improve my diagram a little by editing it a little more and making the overall presentation a little better.

Today in class we continued our topic of the MYP design cycle.We first started by refreshing ourselves by reminding ourselves of what we have learnt through all the past lessons.After that, ms handed out flash cards for a scenario that used the MYP design cycle.Meanwhile, each person that had a paper read what their card sid and they showed us the picture with the text.After that, the people that did not have flashcards were responsible to put the scenario together by putting the people with their cards in the correct order we believe is.Since I was in the group without the paper I then was responsible for putting the people with the papers in the right order according to the text.Later on, after we put them in an order we analysed it one last time after that ms showed us the correct order it was quite different than the one we put but at least we managed to try and were able to get some of it right.Then ms explained our next task which was to create our S.M.A.R.T. goal.For this task, I started by using the software I was going to use so I decided to use Microsoft word to create my S.M.A.R.T. goal as I knew certain ways that I knew could enhance the presentation of my S.M.A.R.T. goal.When I first opened Microsoft word I decided to choose a border to make my S.M.A.R.T. goal look more presentable.So I first chose this floral border from clipart and also from office.com.Next I adjusted the border but I also adjusted the orientation of my page to fit the border.After that I entered and fit the text box into the border then I typed my information into the text box, I then changed my font and my size, I made my title line in the text box about 32 as I wanted that line to be clearer than the rest of the box , for the rest of the text I made it 18.To make my text look better nd more interesting I changed the font to century gothic as I believed that it really looked nice and it was ver presentable, then I adjusted it until I thought it looked good.I believe that I have not really found any difficulty during this task also I don't think that I have found issues completing thistask but instead, I think I have found it quite easy to complete.I believe that I have learnt some new knowledge during this task, for example, I learnt how to find borders on clipart instead of just on page layout or any other option other than clipart, I have also learnt more about the design cycle and I have also learnt how it works in details, other than that I have also learnt how to identify the steps of a design cycle through the scenario we did in the morning, finally I have also learnt how to adjust a border to the text box on Microsoft word.To conclude I believe that both tasks were very beneficial to do and that I have learnt a lot through todays lesson but what I think I can improve for next time in the first task maybe I can analyze it in a more detailed way but for the second task I think I can edit my borders or my text to make it look more interesting.
My own design cycle
Reflection:
For this task I created my own type of the design cycle and the different steps that are used in the digital design cycle.I have put each of those steps and put them in my own words, I have also used images to represent each step of my own design cycle.I have also used the design cycle we have seen in the video to help me complete the cycle in my own way.Other than that I have also used smart art to be able to create the cycle and to be able to try to make the shapes as accurate as possible to make it look very neat and accurate in terms of the set up and the organization of the cycle and how I have set up the cycle in terms of the images and the lines that I have put to connect the order of the steps for the cycle.Also, I have used the inspiration from the activity we completed in the class in one if the previous lessons.I used it to help me be able to order the different steps correctly in the correct order as, before we completed the activity I was quite unfamiliar of the design cycle, and its different features and its different steps.Also, I believe that I have been learnt how to use smart art more through this experience as I was quite unfamiliar with it.Lastly, I believe that I have done a good job in presenting the cycle and putting it on my blog also,I believe what I can improve next time is maybe I can make my cycle more interesting and maybe make the steps a little more detailed.However, I believe that I have done an overall good job in completing this task.
